As we wrap up Term 2, our school community came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week with an assembly which highlighted the rich cultural heritage and achievements of our students.
The event kicked off with a mesmerizing cultural dance performance by our STARS girls.
We were honoured to have special guest Jayden Boundry, who, along with his brother on the didgeridoo, and his nieces and nephews dancing, brought the spirit of NAIDOC Week to life. Among the dancers were our very own Lucas Nolan, a current student, and Maddie Nolan, who was briefly a student at our school. Their performances were a beautiful reminder of the connections and continuity within our community.
Thank you to our courageous student presenters: Kingsley Dorizzie, Shanelle-Ann Dick, Rollick Dimer, and Alissa Lawrence. Their poise and confidence in sharing what this year’s NAIDIOC theme meant to them added a deeply personal touch.
We also celebrated the achievements of our students with the 2025 School NAIDOC Awards. Congratulations to Keanu Walley, Peter Wilson, Riley Barrett, Mason Phillips, Kingsley Dorizzie, Makayla Sariago, and Dwayne Ryder. Each of these students has shown remarkable dedication and has accomplished great things across various areas. Their hard work and commitment are truly commendable.
As we conclude this term, we reflect on the importance of NAIDOC Week and the values it represents. It has been a time of learning, sharing, and celebrating the rich cultural tapestry that makes our school community so special. We look forward to continuing this journey together in the terms to come.
