Principal’s Message

Girrawheen Senior High School provides a wide range of educational opportunities for your child to enjoy their high school years, develop as a teenager, discover their talents, launch their career pathway or prepare for TAFE or University.

Staff are committed to a belief that competencies can be learned and therefore your child will be supported and challenged to achieve their best on a personal level and within the wider community. We teach students ‘how to learn’ and pride ourselves on the strong academic results achieved by our students. School and student success are acknowledged and promoted across our community.

Your child will belong to a culturally diverse school where our motto ‘Unity is Strength’ is reflected in the relationships between students, staff and parents. Opportunities are provided to your child to help develop skills and confidence through sport, performing arts, music, leadership, curriculum and other competitions.

Your child will be expected to be aspiring (achieving personal goals), caring (caring for them self, others and environmental impact), including (accepting, welcoming and respecting all people and maintaining a strong sense of social justice) and contributing (making a difference locally and globally). We encourage parents to stay involved and communicate with us to ensure we are providing the best possible service for your child. I look forward to meeting you and your child.
