Girrawheen SHS’s 2026 Dance Showcase was a spectacular affair.
On the evening of Friday 18th September 2026, with a theatre packed to the brim, Girrawheen SHS Performing Arts Academy Dance and Certificate II in Dance, put on a show that received overwhelmingly positive feedback from Mr Gary Hodge, Chair and President of Ausdance WA.
The show included collaborative works with industry leading organisations including Co3 Contemporary Dance Company, Black Swan Theatre Company, Youth Ballet WA, WAAPA/Edith Cowan University, and more. With performances by Girrawheen SHS students from Year 7-12, as well as a special guest performance from Youth Ballet WA, and a showcase by local primary school students who have been participating in Girrawheen SHS’s free Connected Community Holiday Hip Hop dance classes.
Mr Hodge not only commended the skill and commitment of our dancers, “but also the incredible show of support from their peers and the community with continual whoops of delight and appreciation in the packed theatre until the very end.”
The audience were treated to an undeniably talented group of performers. Congratulations to all dancers at this event. A massive thank you to Head of Arts and Dance Teacher, Angela Perry, and Certificate II in Dance Teacher, Salina Tairoski. We also wish to thank all staff and helpers who made the success of this event possible.
