Congratulations to our Chaplain, Helen Hames, on being named the 2026 winner of the Desmond Heenan School Coordinator of the Year at the EdConnect Awards.
Helen’s outstanding work in our school, engaging and coordinating volunteers to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, has rightfully earned her this recognition.
Her achievement was celebrated at an EdConnect Australia event, where the award was presented by the Minister for Education, Sabine Winton MLA. In a post following the event, Ms Winton acknowledged Helen’s work, and quoted her as saying, “If you can turn a child’s life around, you help an entire family, and that in turn builds our community.”
