Physical Education

At a time when adolescents readily admit to taking little to no part in regular sporting activity, the benefits of physical education cannot be overstated. Physical Education is compulsory for all students in Years 7 to 10.

All year groups have the opportunity to be involved in intra and interschool athletic carnivals.

Our physical education program has an emphasis on inclusivity, teamwork and peer support and promotes enthusiasm, focus and fun.

We have developed a diverse range of sports and activities that enhance skills and knowledge and provide the chance for students to display leadership qualities.

As part of the Physical Education learning area all students in Years 7 to 10 undertake two periods of Health Education each week. The topics covered aim to give students a basis for making healthy lifestyle choices.

Senior School students can choose to further develop their Physical Education knowledge and can achieve:

Certificate I in Sport and Recreation - focuses on sport and recreation in chosen sport areas

Certificate II in Sports Coaching - Year 12 students. Focuses on coaching juniors in chosen sport areas.

Students in Year 11 and 12 have the option to continue studying Health by selecting the Health Studies course of study.
