Students in all year levels have the opportunity to experience our innovative Media program. They are introduced to Media studies in Year 7 and are able to select it as an optional subject in Years 8 to 10 with course content centred on the new Australian Curriculum.

Media is also selectable as a WACE subject in Years 11 and 12 for both General and ATAR pathway students and can lead to a wide variety of career choices.

Students learn to examine and respond to a wide range of media through written and practical production work including:

  • Feature films
  • Television
  • Documentaries
  • Advertising
  • Print media
  • Music videos
  • News and current affairs
  • Computer games
  • Social media
  • Media art

Media students are encouraged to assist with the production of school-based publications and the filming of extra-curricular activities such as concerts, performances, assemblies and graduation ceremonies.

Student work is often showcased in festivals and entered into competitions.
