Principal’s Message

At Girrawheen Senior High School, we understand that choosing the right educational institution for your child is a crucial decision. We are proud to offer a diverse range of educational opportunities that will not only ensure your child enjoys their high school years but also support their personal growth, talent discovery, and successful transition to their chosen career path, whether into the workforce or further education at University or TAFE.

Our dedicated staff members are committed to the belief that competencies can be learned, and we strive to provide an environment where your child will be both supported and challenged to achieve their personal best. We go beyond teaching subjects; we teach students ‘how to learn.’ Our strong academic results reflect our commitment to excellence, and we take great pride in the achievements of our students. School and student success are celebrated and promoted across our community, fostering a culture of achievement and recognition.

At Girrawheen Senior High School, your child will be part of a culturally diverse school community. Our motto, ‘Unity is Strength,’ is more than just words – it’s a reflection of the inclusive and supportive relationships between students, staff, and parents. We believe that a sense of belonging is crucial to your child’s success, and we provide numerous opportunities for them to develop skills, gain confidence, and explore their interests through sports, performing arts, music, leadership programs, curriculum offerings, and various competitions.

We have high expectations for our students, both academically and personally. We encourage them to be aspiring, caring, inclusive, and contributing individuals. We want them to aspire to achieve their personal goals, to care for themselves, others, and the environment, to embrace inclusivity by accepting, welcoming, and respecting all people, and to make a difference locally and globally through their contributions. We firmly believe that by instilling these values, we are preparing our students to become well-rounded individuals who will positively impact society.

We value the partnership between parents and the school, as it plays a crucial role in your child’s educational journey. We encourage active involvement and open communication to ensure that we provide the best possible service for your child. Together, we can create an environment where your child will thrive and reach their full potential.

I eagerly look forward to meeting you and your child. Join us at Girrawheen Senior High School, where educational excellence, diversity, and personal growth go hand in hand.
