Vocational Education & Training

A range of Vocational and Education Training (VET) opportunities are available to students at our school. Some of these are school-based programs while other opportunities exist for students to tailor a program to meet their individual career aspirations.

In most cases, VET programs count toward the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE).

A vocational pathway allows students to:

  • study an accredited course
  • earn secondary graduation
  • gain entry to a State Training Provider (formerly TAFE College)
  • participate in Workplace Learning
  • develop work-related skills
  • complete a Worksafe Certificate
  • earn credit for future training (if recognised units of competence provide exemption when passed)

VET students have the opportunity to participate in:

Pre-Apprenticeship in Schools (PAIS) - a head start on gaining an apprenticeship while still at school

School Based Traineeship - students become employees and are paid a training wage while completing a Certificate II in their industry area and earning secondary graduation
